Luanne Dominix is a visual artist from the small community of Bay Roberts, Newfoundland. She received her Bachelor of Environmental Design Studies (Architecture) from Dalhousie University in 2013. Since finishing her degree, Luanne has returned to Newfoundland where she continues her artistic practice.

Luanne’s current practice explores the intersection of material culture, natural resources, and identity. Her work investigates the interplay between humanity and nature. Through her watercolour paintings she strives to capture the essence of this connection and explore how it shapes our sense of self and place. Her goal is to evoke emotions and spark conversations; prompting the viewer to reflect on their own perceptions of the world and to cultivate a deeper appreciation for the beauty and complexity of our environment.

Luanne has had the pleasure of exhibiting both in Canada and the United States. Luanne's work can be found in private collections throughout Canada and the United States and her work is part of the City of St John’s permanent collection. For purchase inquiries please contact her.

In 2017 Luanne received her Master of Business Administration from Memorial University of Newfoundland. In addition to her love of art, Luanne is an adamant supporter of rural entrepreneurship. She believes that ‘a rising tide lifts all boats’. Supporting small business owners, including artists and artisans, will lead to improved economic development for the entire province as well as the rest of Canada.
